Hello,
period!

The period, also known as menstruation or monthly, is a completely normal vaginal bleeding that occurs once a month as part of the menstrual cycle. Every month for over 30 years of our life, our body and our hormones prepare for a possible pregnancy (follicular phase): usually, in the middle of the cycle one of the ovaries releases an egg (ovulation), which waits an average 12-14 days in the uterus (luteal phase). If the ovum is not fertilized by a sperm, it is shed along with blood and the lining of the uterus and is expelled (menstruation) to start the same cycle all over again.

The first period or menarche usually occurs at about age 10 to 15. The first period usually involves very light bleeding, just a few drops even.

The menstrual cycle lasts 28 days on average, although it’s normal for it to occur every 21 to 35 days. To count the days, start from the first day of your period (don’t wait to count from when the bleeding is heavy, count from the first drops or light spotting) until the day before your next period. A tip: write it down in your diary or, if you prefer, use one of the many apps available to help you keep track. Be responsible, it’s your body ❤

In the first year of getting your period, it is very common to have irregular periods. Some girls wait for months until they get it again, while others have them regularly from the beginning. Don’t worry: every body is unique.

Having your period should not stop you from swimming in the sea, in the pool … or in your bathtub! But you might not feel up to it. The water pressure can temporarily slow your flow, but it will not stop it completely. Choose and try the products that make you feel more comfortable in this situation (menstrual cup, tampons …). But above all, listen to your body, and enjoy whatever you do!

Of course. In fact, several studies show that physical activity favors circulation, reducing menstrual discomfort. Find the style and the exercise intensity that suits you best. Listen to your body, on your period days and every other day!

Some girls have them others don’t. The discomfort occurs when the womb contracts, which during the period is more intense. You may feel a bit more tired and sensitive during the days leading up to and during menstruation. In any case, if the pain is severe or limits your day-to-day activities, speak to your gynecologist or pediatrician.

Hello,
Cocoro!

They are amazingly comfortable and beautiful period absorbing underwear. Cocoro is the first European brand of menstrual panties. The company was established in Barcelona by four women who wanted to change the way we live the cycle.

All period products have their limits (we’ve all stained our underwear at some point, it’s no big deal!) There are different types of Cocoro depending on how light or heavy your flow is. You will gradually get to know your body and learn what works best for you.

They have three layers: an internal one, which is 100% organic cotton (in contact with your skin); an intermediate layer of antibacterial, absorbent, and water-repellent technical fabric (prevents moisture), and an external one, which varies depending on the model, to make them both practical and beautiful. They are comfortable, breathable, and odorless.

It depends on the person, on their type and heaviness of flow. There is no set number of hours – try them for a few months and find out how and when they work best for you. Experience them yourself.

Cocoro period panties can be washed about 60 times, which is equivalent to 2 years of normal use. After that you can use them as conventional (non-period) panties for a few more years.

By trying them! There are a number of products you can use on your period days. Try them out, combine and compare to find your perfect formula.

You can choose how to wash them: by hand or in the washing machine with the rest of your laundry. It is particularly important that you wash them before the first use and that you follow the washing instructions we provide. But don’t worry, taking care of your Cocoros is very easy.
